Get an inside look at one of Stearns County’s transformative agriculture industries during the next Heritage Circle Tour at Leedstone in Melrose, Minnesota, on Thursday, May 22nd. Leedstone, which specializes in animal health, pharmaceuticals, farm supplies and dairy equipment, traces its roots back to 1929 when Albany veterinarian, Emil Joseph (E.J.) Tomsche, started his practice. Emil served in the United States Army during World War I and was a well-respected veterinarian in the area. His grandsons, David and Dan, are the current owners of the business. Fun fact – Leedstone is named for an early Stearns County settlement that is now the city of St. Martin.
Don’t miss this tour! It’s sure to get you thinking about farming, agriculture and great central Minnesota history!
